Let's look at the little things that make this bike super special for Sodaro.
Although anyone can buy this bike (assuming they have the money), what they can't buy is the level of personal details that Canyon is willing to put on the bike for you. Let's look at the little things that make this bike super special for the current IRONMAN World Champion.
Located just under the top tube, Steve & Skye are keeping her up during the day :)
On the rear derailleur we have the famous post Kona photo of Chelsea with her daughter Skye.
With some history here Chelsea saw a rainbow at the start of the world champs and saw it as a good omen.
During Kona she repeated “stay here” and “yes, yes, yes,” to help her stay present and to not think about winning.
“yes, yes, yes” was inspired by Skye who at the time was in a phase of saying “no” to everything, and her and the fam wouks say ‘yes’ to her. And that came to her in the race.
The custom sparkle of gold in the paint.
More gold pops here.
Now we can get to the tech details of the bike.
Shimano 12-Speed drive train featuring 54/40 chain rings and 165mm crank.
Chelsea chooses to ride Shimano Dura-ace pedals.
Birdseye view of the cockpit, rocking her Wahoo Bolt.
Somewhat forward seat with the old tried and true electric tape saddle marker.
She will carry 2 bottles plus her internal hydration. Canyon has done a great job with the way these are done -- super clean compared to most other bikes.
ISM Pn3.0 which is ISM's newer version of the saddle that is slightly wider in the rear at 120mm.
Hubs will be DT Swiss 180 Ratchet EXP which is the lightest hub they make.
Rear wheel is the ARC Dicut Disc, front wheel the ARC 1100, 80mm width and the tire choice is the Grand Prix 5000 TT TR.
Big shout out to Chelsea and Steve for allowing me to take time of your busy day.
