Eric Lagerstrom won the prestigious Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon on a Cervelo P3 that he has as a loaner for the summer from the Athlete's Lounge in Portland, OR, a shop he has been close to since he got into the sport. Athlete's Lounge is a full-service triathlon retail shop in the Pacific Northwest and offer a variety of services including a fit studio with FIST certified fitters, Recovery Pumps and free espresso.
In the past many pros had opted to race the triathlon monument on a road bike but the advent of electronic shifting and, specifically Di2 for Lagerstrom, was ‘indispensable’ and led the majority of pros to favor time-trial frames.

Lagerstrom’s wheel partner from the onset of his racing was Rolf Prima, a company head-quartered in nearby Eugene, Oregon. Made in Oregon is a concept very special to the native of the state. At Escape from Alcatraz, Lagerstrom rode the TDF 6SL’s with ‘Portland Grey’ custom decals.
Lagerstrom doctored up the front end set up to fit his Pioneer head unit and his BTA bottle cage. By coincidence, a Pioneer employee was at Athlete Lounge the day of his visit to the shop, and is taking his feedback into account to create a solution to avoid future electric tape jobs.
The saddle of choice is the fi:zi’k ARES, which is set on the front half of the seat post.
Lagerstrom works with electronic company Pioneer for his power meter needs. He often features his real time power readings in his homemade race videos as well as on his Strava account.
