A sacral stress fracture forced Ben Hoffman out just before the 2018 IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, but he is back for redemption this year on this fly Cervelo PX with matching ENVE wheels and various other fine components from Shimano, 4iiii, SLF Motion, Continental, XLab etc. He won the IRONMAN South Africa in April and hopes all stars align this weekend in Kona.
The Hoff rides a size M Cervelo PX and we expect to see this bike at the pointy end of the field on race day.
A 4iiii power meter is integrated into the 170mm Dura-Ace cranks and Hoffman also rides on Shimano Dura-Ace pedals. The ICE Friction coated chain is connected to SLF Motion oversized derailleur pulleys.
Here is a closer look at these SLF Motion oversized pulleys, plus the custom Kona themed graphics on the ENVE SES 7.8 wheels are nicely in picture. Hoffman will ride Continental GP5000 TL tires.
A Specialized Sitero II saddle for comfort during those long hours on the bike. Hoffman was previously sponsored by Specialized.
A look at the ENVE / Cervelo mono riser cockpit on Hoffman's Cervelo PX. An XLab Gorilla cage is mounted between the extensions, and on race day is filled with a Clif Bar bottle.
The cockpit as seen from above with no grip tape on the extensions, and Hoffman added a hydration system that looks to be a Specialized Fuelselage
The Shimano Dura-Ace hydraulic disc brakes are likely the best ones out there, so no worries for Hoffman in terms of stopping.
