Heather Wurtele recently partnered with Parlee Cycles and moving forward she will be racing on a Parlee TTiR disc bike. The same is true for her husband Trevor and the two well liked and fast Canadians have virtually matching bikes. Heather Wurtele is 6'2" tall and weighs 150 pounds. And she describes herself as long legs and short torso. But here now is closer look at this very fine looking machine of hers.

Typically we showcase bikes from the drive side, but on a bike with disc brakes we sometimes make an exception.

But this is likely the view many folks will see of Heather Wurtele when she comes by. She is still working on some details but is currently super happy with the general setup and fit. "Really impressed with the handling and power transfer, and it's so light!" said Wurtele.

The size L Parlee TTiR Disc is equipped with ENVE SES 7.8 tubeless wheels and Schwalbe Pro One tires, Shimano Ultegra Di2 components, a Fizik Antares saddle and various other fine details and now awaits the next ride.

The XLab Gorilla XT cage is ziptied to the Fizik Antares saddle and Heather Wurtele likes it that way. "Always preferred making my own so it can be tight against the seat," said Wurtele.

Wurtele rides 175mm Rotor 2INpower cranks with 53/39 Rotor Q-Rings. The chainring is a new one piece that is cut from a single block of aluminum and direct mounts to the crank. The pedals are Shimano Dura-Ace but the rest of the components are Ultegra. Pulleys are by CeramicSpeed.

Initially Wurtele had mounted the Garmin with a homemade mount between and under the extensions, but ended up moving it back on top. "I didn't like how low that bar I made for between the aerobars sat before, so I just mounted it to one aerobar and it worked pretty well. I always end up tinkering a fair bit to get the race set up just right..." said Wurtele. The base bars are by Parlee, and the extensions mounted below.

The carbon disc brake covers are very cool, and Heather Wurtele has opted for cable actuated disc brakes here. "Having had hydraulic before, actually impressed with how well these brake - also lighter," said Wurtele.
