The SRAM Red 22 test bike

While at Sea Otter we had the chance to ride a SRAM Red 22 equipped Specialized S-Works Roubaix with the new SRAM Red hydraulic disc brakes and here are some images of this setup. The first impressions were very positive and shifting of that 11-speed drive train was efficient and crisp as expected. The disc brakes handled the rolling hills we tackled very well, it was easy to control the speed on some tricky descents and you could also feel that you have all the power you could possibly want.

The bike basks in the sun after a 2 hour outing through the hills surrounding Monterey, California.

The HydroR SRAM Red levers are indeed taller but this editor found it to be comfortable and not unusual. Shifting was crisp and the braking powerful and controlled.

The front end of this Specialized S-Works Roubaix is quite comfortable.

Our slowtwitch.com bottle added a bit of color to this otherwise very stealth looking machine.

SRAM Red crank with Quarq powermeter, but we rode this ride without a head unit.

The back end with the 11-speed cassette and the disc brake nicely inside.

The non drive side shows the SRAM Red hydraulic disc brake better.

Another look at the HydroR levers.

Our bike was equipped with a Specialized Romin saddle.

Our bike came with Zipp 303 Firecrest carbon clinchers and Continental tires.
